Design and development of privacy-preserving systems through socio-cultural and value-sensitive lenses, especially for marginalized populations.

Reproductive Health & mHealth

Design, deployment, and evaluation of chatbots and digital peer support interventions for family planning, maternal health, and sexual and reproductive health in rural India.

Technology & Care Infrastructures

Understanding how social settings, household structures, and community dynamics shape engagement with digital health tools, and how technology can scaffold care and support.

  • Chatbot for Sexual and Reproductive Health in Low-resource Settings in India (2025).
    Deployed an LLM-based WhatsApp chatbot to support postpartum women's concerns around sexual and reproductive health in low-resource settings.
  • Digital Peer Support Group for Family Planning in Low-resource Settings in India (2023).
    Conducted a three-week WhatsApp-based field study with 30 participants to examine how technology-based peer support addresses family planning needs among rural Indian women.
  • Chatbot for COVID-19 Vaccine Hesitancy in Low-resource Settings in India (2022).
    Developed, deployed, and evaluated a rule-based WhatsApp chatbot to address COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy among pregnant and breastfeeding women; analyzed engagement of over 800 users.
  • Chatbot for Breastfeeding Mothers in Low-resource Settings in India (2018).
    Designed a Hindi-language chatbot to support breastfeeding mothers by addressing breastfeeding-related queries via a mobile application interface.
